You're faced with these two cars in a junkyard. You can only bring one back to life on the road. Which do you choose?

Spider. TR7 is the worst TR.

Would probably be decided by rust, in the end. Temptation, though, would be to do the unforgivable and send the Alfa to the beyond, just for the perversity the TR7 offers. There's less "wrong" with jamming random insanity under the hood.

Alfa. Italian.OHC. Red Wine. Fine loafers. Proscuitto. Amalfi Coast. (paint it red).
TR7. British. meh.

When have you ever cared about wrong? The Alfa will look better no matter what is under the hood.

Alfa all day. I couldn't live with the embarrassment of owning a TR7, even though the later models with the V8 weren't bad.

Spider. Definitely Spider.

Well, see, but if you put something goofy enough in it it might stick *through* the hood. That, and it remains to be seen how much room the Alfa has - the TR-7 has enough for an RV8, proven fact.
Plus, the TR7's incredible 80s-ness and uglitude are so over the top they need encouragement.

Wait, what website is that?
![]() 07/09/2014 at 09:30 |

You'd pick the TR7 because it is easier?

Your answer lies within.
Such beauty. Many cams. Very olio. Wow crossflow.

Not really, more that it's already wrong enough that it's very practical to make *epically* wrong. The Alfa, you might get stuck halfway to wrong and just be boring.

The Alfa, apparently I won't be a true gearhead until I own one.

Insufficiently wrong. Mildly dopey only.

What? It's got a clear hood!

And Snake badges.

What it needed, nay, demanded, was a shaker scoop, and an artfully resculpted bit of fiberglass on the back end, with a spoiler. Not AutoZone/ricer hackery, but full on batshit crazy - high craftsmanship edition. Alteration of the front bumper to have an upside-down sort-of-Mustang inlet. Chrome strip on the top of the bumper and the side relief. Two-tone style paint job with Italian flag fading to an American one - or an American flag in Italian colors.
This verges on cringe-worthy, but artful abomination it is not.

A mini Superbird then?

Kind of the lovechild of that, an SN-95, and the Torino King Cobra.

Me, I'd just install a v8 with the largest blower I could find and an axle wide enough to fit some huge slicks outside of the of the car.
